From its inception, the Syracuse University Park for Innovation and Research has been designed as an integral part of the University Hill community, bringing the worlds of academia and business closer together. The park will enhance the flow of ideas between the academic and business sectors by establishing a mutually accessible forum in which members of both communities will continually interact. Even the park's campus-like setting is an aesthetic reflection of the relationship park tenants will share with the University.
Think of the great intellectual and business challenges that lie ahead - moving into the next generation of computers, working to clean up the natural environment, and taking care of the medical needs of growing communities, to name just a few. To stay competitive, technology-oriented businesses will need more than great transportation, low-cost utilities, and a dedicated work force.
To remain on the cutting edge of tomorrow's technology, businesses must have access to the creativity present in a research university's classrooms and laboratories.
This kind of interaction already occurs on a daily basis in Syracuse University's Science and Technology Center, home to the University's high-end computing and scientific research activity.
The Science and Technology Center plays an integral role in the park. The CASE Center - a microcosm of the park concept - is located in the Science and Technology Center. In addition to space, the CASE Center offers new enterprises expert support and access to the technological resources of Syracuse University. As they expand, some of those enterprises may relocate to the park.
